Skateboarding is a sport, an art form, a lifestyle, and a culture. With people turning everything from airports to deserts into skate parks, it is clear skateboarding is everywhere. Kids have been doing it for decades, and it has even become an extreme sport. We can all, however, benefit from skateboarding even if it just recreationally.

1. Stockwell Skatepark

Concrete facility with a long history, also known in its time as Stockwell Sands or Brixton Beach.

2. Cantelowes Skatepark, Camden

Concrete skate bowl and skate furniture designed for skateboarding and BMX bikes. Facilities are supervised but used at own risk. Protective equipment such as helmets, wrist guards, elbow and knee pads must be worn. Cannot to be used after rain/snow or during icy conditions, when closed or dark.

3. Meanwhile Skatepark

Meanwhile Gardens in Westbourne Park is one of London’s oldest skateparks. Three varying size interlocking bowls, with pump bumps, hips, extensions and more.
As with any old skateparks there are a few cracks to be expected, but has been maintained well over the years. If bowls are your thing this has to be on your list.

4. Finsbury Park Skatepark

Small pair of concrete bowls near the tennis courts in Finsbury Park, one bowl has a deep and shallow side. The other has coping at one end of the bowl and rounded lips on the others and a small driveway in the middle.

5. White’s Grounds Skate Park

Plaza-style skate park with sessions for beginners, under-18s and over-18s, as well as tournaments. This skatepark is nestled under the arches of the railway bridge that leads to London Bridge station, near the White Grounds estate.

6. Mile End Skate Park

Mile End is a heavily street orientated skatepark, although there is a small swimming pool style bowl and wooden mini ramp indoors. It has several ledges spread out around the park, lots of flat land areas, manual pads and a nice hip with a ledge on top.

Harrow Skate Park, a.k.a Solid Surf was built in 1976 to feed the youth of the area with a place for what they loved. It is one of the few remaining 70’s concrete skateparks left in Britain which hasn’t simply been run to the ground.

12. Dartford Skatepark

Dartford Skatepark is quite a large park with bowl and street course. The bowl is a decent size U shaped layout with nice variations to depth and coping the bowl joins the street section with a spine ramp.
