Join aerial yoga teacher Valerie Teh and personal trainer Anna Roberts for an afternoon Urban Retreat this January, learning creative ways to move and meditate in the new year.
Our afternoon will begin with Anna leading you through a warm up and 45 minute playful bodyweight HIIT session – the combination of animal flow and functional circuits are designed to energise the entire body and mind. After a short break, where vegan snacks will be provided, Valerie will guide you through a 45 minute aerial yoga practice. With the aid of a silk hammock, yoga poses – particularly inversions, where you go upside down – are taken to a new dimension. A closing meditation will follow, with participants resting in floating cocoons, before we decamp to the parkside café for a short discussion on how to set and stick to wellness goals for 2019.
The mini-retreat will be held at The Lodge Space, a short walk from Canada Water and Surrey Quays. Formerly the Keeper’s Lodge at Southwark Park, it is now a thriving wellness hub in SE London with 3 studios, spa treatment rooms and a full-service café that backs directly onto the park.
If you have any injuries and pre-existing conditions, including – but not limited to – pregnancy, high/low blood pressure, and/or recent surgeries, please let us know by adding a comment when purchasing a ticket, or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Spaces are strictly limited, so please book your place ASAP! Please arrive promptly at 1.45pm for a 2pm start.
An occasional yogini from the age of 12, Valerie Teh only began to understand the possibilities of self-care through breath and movement when it helped her through the loss of her father. Seeking to deepen her knowledge in these fields, she completed a 200-hour teacher training with world-renowned yoga and breathwork master Max Strom. She is also trained in Aerial Yoga (Holly Coles) and Mandala Vinyasa (Julie Montagu), and currently teaches aerial and mat yoga classes across London.
Fun Fact: Once upon a time, Valerie (briefly) dated a Grand Slam tennis champion!
