Whether you love to travel, love extreme sport, or actively pursue both, there is a lot on in January 2017 to keep you feeling alive.
1. Pirtek Snocross National
Championship snocross racing at Canterbury Park lures the best extreme snowmobile riders in the country to Shakopee for big air & fast racing.
2. Gunflint Mail Run Sled Dog Race
A continuous race for 12-dog teams, with two legs of equal distance separated by a layover. Two racing classes: a 12-dog race, 110-mile race & an 8-dog, 70-mile race.
3. Wodapalooza Miami Fitness Festival
What started 5 years ago as a local event become a worldwide competitive bonanza with more than 25,000 spectators & almost 1500 athletes, representing over 30 countries.
4. Bright Paragliding Open
The Bright Paragliding Open is an 7 day XC paragliding competition.
5. World Mountain Bike Chariot Racing Championships
Modern chariots built with traditional Roman mild steel, vulcanised rubber & welding have been created for the race. Engineered to be pulled by mountain bikes next to each other, requiring 3 skilled, brave challengers to prove their team working skills.
6. 42nd Cowboy Downhill
With over 75 professional rodeo cowboys competing in a unique ski rodeo. Cowboy Downhill is scheduled along with the National Western Stock Show in Denver.
7. Pilwarren Maslin Beach Nude Games

8. King of the Hill Terrain Park Competition
Annual slopestyle competition takes place at the newly-opened Don Diego terrain park.
9. Fleurieu Milk Compass Cup
The Compass Cup is a wacky Australian event that shows their slightly warped sense of humour. Someone came up with the idea of hopping on an untrained cow & riding it, sounds like fun.
10. 49th Tapati Rapa Nui Festival
Celebration the election of the queen of Tapati. Two groups form an alliance, facing each other through a series of competitions, evoking ancient rivalries between clans who ruled the island.
