1. Surf City USA Marathon
A spectacular oceanfront course that is a Southern California favorite. Pass the Huntington Beach pier & run through Huntington Central Park. There will be over 2,000 volunteers & surf bands along the way to cheer you on.
2. World’s Toughest Rodeo
Showcasing champion cowboys from around the US competing in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding & bull riding. The ladies will be trying for the championship title in barrel racing.
3. 49th Annual International 500 Snowmobile Race
Come out for the 49th Annual International I-500 Snowmobile Race & enjoy the thrills of NASCAR on a one-mile oval ice track. The I-500 is the largest event in the snowmobile-racing world.
4. The Pioneer Mountain Bike Stage Race
A 4 day solo ride of 314km or 7 day team race of 549km, both through the Southern Alps of New Zealand.
5. World Shearing & Woolhandling Championships
Over 4,000 sheep will pass through the ILT Stadium over 3 day. Come out to witness the best in the world vying for the title of World Champion Shearer, World Champion Blade Shearer or World Champion Woolhandler.
6. Wayzata Chilly Open Frozen Golf Tournament
Three 9-hole courses will be plowed out on Lake Minnetonka, where more than 1,200 golfers will compete. Using hockey sticks & golf clubs they will hit & putt tennis balls. The Wayzata Chilly Open is the most well known & unusual golf tournament held on a lake.
7. Montréal Ice Canoe Challenge
Montreal hosts the 5th ice canoe racing event of the championship on February 20th at the Old Port.
8. Sapphire Valley Outhouse Race
At the end of the ski season everyone gets a bit restless & starts to look for some excitement. Of course most just do what comes naturally, race outhouses down a hill. Crazy? Probably. Dangerous? Maybe. Fun? Absolutely. For a good cause? Yes.
9. Hagg Lake Mud Runs Ultra 50K & 25K
This course provides runners the chance to run along the trails at stunning Hagg Lake. The Races are run on separate days, the 50K on Saturday & the 25k on Sunday.
10. Susitna 100 & Little Su 50k
The Susitna 100 is a ski, foot, or bike race on packed snowmachine & dog sled trails in the Susitna River valley. The remoteness of the course, distance between checkpoints & winter conditions make it necessary for racers to carry survival equipment.
11. Cook County Hungry Jack Snowmobile Drag Race
Cook County Snowmobile Club presents the Ridge Rider’s drag races on Hungry Jack Lake. With an after party at Hungry Jack Lodge for prizes.
12. Canadian Challenge Sled Dog Race
A 12 dog continuous mid distance race held in Saskatchewan. The race follows a route similar to the old sled dog trail used for years by trappers.
13. Superbike World Championship
Be the first to see teams & their super bike champs battling in the opener to the Superbike World Championships. With one of the highest average speeds of any circuit & amazing spectator points, this is an annual pilgrimage fans rarely regret.
14. Kilimanjaro Marathon, Half Marathon & 5k
A registered IAAF race, the marathon provides official marshalling, time-keeping & refreshment points & may be used as a qualifier for Comrades. The race is run under Mount Kilimanjaro & altitude gain is between 830 & 1150m asl, on good tarred roads.
