Santa Clarita’s western heritage is celebrated annually at the Cowboy Festival, attracting over 10,000 visitors every year.
Over twenty years ago, city leaders were impressed by the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada. Seeing an opportunity to celebrate Santa Clarita’s own Western history, from art & music to television. The festival was founded in 1994, honoring the Old West through music, poetry, cowboy gear, food & storytelling in a setting unique to the area.
