In common with most sports there are health benefits to playing cricket. It can improve endurance, stamina, physical fitness and hand eye-coordination. Cricket also involves short bursts of sprinting and throwing which is good for cardio-vascular health. The game is good for developing team skills.

5. Finchley Cricket Club
FINCHLEY Cricket Club is a Clubmark accredited cricket club based in North London, Middlesex. Established in 1832 at Arden Field, East End Road, Finchley, the ground is regarded as one of the best in southern England. 6. Putney Cricket Club
We have just relayed the playing surface and constructed an outdoor practice net next to the pavilion to allow training sessions throughout the season. We also have a bowling machine for specialised batting practice. We are still accepting new members, new players can sign up throughout the season.

7. Crouch End Cricket Club
We are a friendly cricket club based in Crouch End, North London N8, with our own private ground and excellent private facilities including changing rooms, showers, bar, and nets (static and roll -on). We are working towards ECB Clubmark with a focus on junior player development, and high quality community club cricket.

8. Hornsey Cricket Club
Our firsts play the highest standard league of amateur level cricket in North London, and we have had many international and county cricketers play for us in the past, including Ed Joyce, Neil Williams, Wilf Slack and Trent Johnstone. Our ground is one of the most scenic in the league, and one of the only four on the league circuit to have staged a game of first class cricket.

9. Shepherds Bush Cricket Club
We run 3 adult teams in the Middlesex League on Saturdays, and a 4th XI in the 1987 Cricket League, as well as a Sunday XI playing a mixture of League matches and friendlies. Our juniors (Colts) section is thriving as never before, with 5 age groups up to under 15’s.
We are one of the few remaining cricket clubs to run a full 5-day cricket week, at the end of July each year.

13. North London Cricket Club
Founded in 1877 and still going strong, with 5 Men’s Saturday Middlesex League teams and a Women’s Middlesex League team, playing at our two beautiful grounds, located within the Shepherds Cot conservation area and yet still within easy reach of the City & West End of London. Our huge Junior membership provides cricket for over 240 boys and girls and we also run a development U21 team.

14. Merton Cricket Club
We run 2 Saturday sides (competing in the Fuller’s Brewery Surrey County League) and 2 Sunday sides (playing long established local friendly matches). We host an annual 6-aside cricket tournament during the season, as well as organising numerous and varied “after match” social events throughout the summer. Our cricket pavilion has a pool table, dart board, ample comfortable seating, a fully functional kitchen and a very reasonably priced bar.

15. Wembley Cricket Club
Young and aspiring talent has often come through the ranks of Wembley CC. John Price, Phillip DeFreitas and Chris Lewis played for Wembley before going on to represent England, Devang Gandhi likewise for India, and you could be next! 16. Tooting Bec Common Cricket Pitch
We are a friendly team based around Battersea, Balham, Brixton, Tooting, Wimbledon, Richmond, Wandsworth, Clapham and Streatham.
Throughout the summer we organise cricket games, mainly 40-over matches at the weekend – and our aim is always to have a good laugh.
